Dump Trailer Rental vs. Dumpster in Snohomish County: Which One’s Smarter for Homeowners?
If you don’t own a truck (or don’t want to drive to the dump), a delivered dump trailer is usually the fastest, most flexible option for weekend cleanups, remodels, and moving. We park it in your driveway, you load at your pace, and we haul—no street permits, no long-term drop, and no surprises.
Dump trailer: why homeowners love it
- Delivered to your driveway. No truck needed. Load on your schedule, then we tow it away.
- Driveway-safe. Rubber tires + boards under the jack reduce surface risk.
- Flexible timing. Common 1–3 day rentals—finish the job without rushing.
- Easier access. Lower deck height and swing-door ramps make loading bulky items simpler.
- Neighborhood-friendly. Shorter on-site time than a week-long dumpster drop.
When a roll-off dumpster might be better
- Massive projects producing continuous debris for 5–10+ days.
- Tight timelines where you need a stationary container on site the whole week.
If you’re not sure, text us a photo of your pile—we’ll recommend the smarter, cheaper choice for your job.
What you can load (typical household & remodel debris)
- General junk, furniture, mattresses, carpet, drywall, mixed remodeling debris
- Appliances without refrigerant, hot water tanks, stoves, dishwashers (transfer stations have dedicated recycling areas for many items—often free for households).
Heads-up on local limits: Snohomish County sets weight/size rules and material restrictions at transfer stations (think length limits and max cubic yards per load). Knowing these helps us plan the right trailer and avoid turn-aways.
What you can’t load (or requires special handling)
To keep everyone safe—and to avoid county turn-aways—don’t load:
- Liquids & wet paint, solvents, fuels; most solvent-based paints are dangerous waste. (Latex must be dried solid to be landfilled.)
- Batteries, fluorescent tubes, mercury items (universal waste)—take these to approved drop-offs.
- Explosives, sharps, medical waste, asbestos, certain electronics—use the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program or specialty disposal.
Tip: Snohomish County operates a Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Station in Everett (hours Wed–Sat). If you uncover HHW while cleaning, we’ll guide you to the right drop-off so your trailer load stays compliant.
Yard debris note (important)
The County stopped accepting yard/clean wood debris at its solid waste facilities; you’ll need an alternate site. We can direct you to current options or route your load accordingly.
Fees & how pricing works (plain English)
There are two parts:
- Your service (trailer delivery, rental window, haul-away).
- County disposal fees based on weight. As a reference, Snohomish County lists $20 (≤360 lbs) or $105/ton + tax for loads over 360 lbs; fees are prorated under a ton. We’ll weigh your load and include the dump receipt.
How the process works (3 steps)
- We deliver a clean, driveway-safe dump trailer to your address in Arlington, Marysville, Lake Stevens, Granite Falls, Camano Island, Smokey Point, and nearby areas.
- You load at your pace (we’ll set weight/height guidelines so the station accepts it the first time).
- We haul—you get your driveway back, and we provide the disposal ticket for your records.
